The Master and his pet

 The Master and his pet

Narayanan Nair, a poor pensioner, had a seed bull at home

The Bull  was the only companion and  source of income to him .

It is the only best seed bull in that village .

The locals found out and knew that it was the only best bull in their area .

Those who  had their own  cows, started bringing them to Nair's place, instead of going far and wide out of their village.

They were happy and made sure of the fact  that  the calf borne here  is of better gene and will  fetch more in future.

Narayanan Nair is also happy that his seed  bull  has become a good source of income.

The bull evenly considered every cow that comes to him and didn’t disappoint anyone. No fatigue in that regard.  It didn't show any fatigue nor tired even once.

As time passed by, a group among the locals got together and thought of not to rely on Narayan Nair always and decided to buy  the  bull  for a reasonable price .

A representative  on their behalf met Nair and said :

“Give me a price for your bull , and we are going to buy it from you “

Narayan Nair does not want to lose his companion, nor his good source of income. He thought for a while and decided to quote a very high price for his  pet bull .  They were envious of Nair and not ready to accept the offer. They, instead made a complaint to the  Panchayat  President, stating  their  agony and intentions.

The President understood their problem and using the  Panchayat Fund bought the seed bull and completed the  deal.  Now, the pet bull has become  the common property of the Panchayat in the service of the society at large.

With accolades and formal ceremonies over with fanfare, on the opening day,  the locals readily waiting with their cows started coming for the mating with the bull.

The bull has no reaction after seeing the first cow they brought .

"It's a cow's problem" , One said: That's too much .  It's thin, said another.

Another owner,  brought his healthy Jersey cow to the front.

The bull has no movement..!!

Next, they  brought the  other cows that were also lined up, one after the  other.

But the bull didn't budge..!!

Panchayat President  was angry, confused and jittery . It is the Taxpayers money, he has used and now he didn't want to face or think of another scam in the offing.

He immediately called for  Narayanan Nair  and appealed him  to fix the problem.

 Narayanan Nair readily obliged to the  President. Without waiting he came  close to his pet’s ear and asked lovingly ;

"How are you , my child ?  Why is this change of  your heart..!  Are you tired of this job?".

The Seed bull looked so sympathetically at Nair….and lazily  answered :

How should I work?

Who are you to say..?

Now I am a government employee.

You don't know that it is..!  When I'm comfortable, will do as per my convenience..!

You go,  look after your work..!😏

(not meant for all government officials)

For all those who still keep  faith in Marxian theories …

( An overheard conversation passed over to me.... )
